As with legal descriptions, it is possible for the LDAMS to extract meaningful information from an address, rather than just treating it as a series of letters.When you want to find a property record with a particular address, and there is no exact match in the database, RDI. s Address Matching System takes that address, extracts the address number, direction (N,S,E or W), the main part of the street name, and the suffix (ST, BLVD, etc.), recognizing variations on frequently occurring words, such as STR instead of ST.It then compares an address number and street name with other addresses in the database, with an allowance for small differences so that the names do not have to be spelled identically.
